So, it’s that time.

Next Thursday, we move to Boston. We have nowhere to live, which is exciting. Exciting in a “may you live in interesting times” kind of exciting. I suppose that’s a vaguely evil, sarcastic kind of exciting.

What I just discovered was that Google Maps has a “Real Estate Search.” I had no idea such a thing existed. I can type in what I’m looking for (rental), a price range, and keywords (eg. “furnished”), and it shows me places in my current view that match my criteria.

Wacky. Even though I know how they did it, it still seems like magic.

Dude. We should talk. I can recommend a number of places around here, depending on your criteria. I spent the last two years living in Davis Square, which is really nice, but now Laura and I are moving to Belmont, which is more small-towny and cheaper despite its only being a ten-minute (or so) bus ride to Harvard Square… :)

I had good luck with Malden. Cheap, not yet completely urban-decayed, suburban enough that it has supermarkets and such, and all-day street parking within two blocks of the Malden Center T stop. Depending on where you start from, and how pedestrian-acculturated all that UK time has made you, it’s even walkable to the upper-crustier parts of Cambridge.

Oh, and: congratulations, congratulations, and welcome back!
