Whether I “should have” or not, I managed to score a 1GB iPod Shuffle while making my way through the States. I tried, several months ago, to get a USB stick MP3 player, but it died horrifically within two weeks of ownership.

I’m hoping the Apple product A) works better with my Powerbook, and B) has a better shelf life. I assume it will. Given the number of times I seem to cross the Atlantic in a year, this is a welcome little gadget.

Another few hours, and I’m on the plane for yet another eternity, and I will find myself back in the snowy SE of England. Leaving home, going home, I suppose.
