I have been insanely productive for the last … two months? Unfortunately, I’m currently waking up every morning by 8 in a panic, as I’m sure that I should still be doing I was working on (until late) the night before.

But today… today has been useless. I’m just staring out the window. Maybe I blew a gasket or something?

Or perhaps it’s because I don’t know the answer to a question; how could I allow (reasonably savvy) end users to specify a state machine and the transition conditions on each edge without having to explicitly write some kind of program? This representation must be automatically transformable. XML could work, for example.

Are there tools out there for drawing/specifying state machines? Are they free/cheap? Do they run on Windows? *NIX?
